Parramatta are set to appeal the fine imposed against the National Rugby League club by the ARL Commission for breaches of the salary cap during the 2011 NRL season.

The Eels were one of four teams, along with Gold Coast, Penrith and Canberra, to be fined for salary cap indiscretions on Friday.

Parramatta were slugged for more than $80,000, with the Titans hit with a penalty of more than $40,000.

The Panthers must cough up more than $40,000 and the Raiders more than $5,000.

Wests Tigers lost their appeal against a 2010 fine of around $200,000.
