Seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry has rolled back the years to complete a surprise 13-4 win over holder John Higgins in the second round of the world championship in Sheffield.

The 43-year-old Scot, who won his last world title in 1999, led 12-4 overnight and knocked in a break of 64 to wrap up victory.

It was Hendry's first ranking event win against the four-time winner Higgins since 2003 and set up his first world quarter-final since 2009.

He will now face compatriot Stephen Maguire who completed a 13-7 win over England's Joe Perry on Saturday.
