Paul Silas will not return as coach of the Charlotte Bobcats basketball team after they struggled to a 7-59 record in the worst season by any club in NBA history.
The Bobcats lost their final 23 regular-season games to finish with only seven victories and only a .106 winning percentage.
They also scored the fewest points of any NBA club and had the worst shooting percentage from the field.
That was worse than the 65-year-old NBA's old mark, the 9-73 season by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers that produced a .110 win percentage.
The NBA season was trimmed from 82 to 66 games per team this season due to a money dispute between club owners and players.
The search for Silas replacement is already underway.
