Mark Todd loses top horse through injury

Mark Todd's challenge for a third Olympic eventing title has suffered a setback with the withdrawal of his top horse because of injury.

Land Vision, on which he won Badminton last year, has suffered a recurrence of an old tendon injury and will be out of action for three months.

Todd is bitterly disappointed for Land Vision as he proved last year to be one of the best four-star horses in the world, and a serious contender for an Olympic medal this year.

But there's no way now he could be ready in time for London.

Todd remains available for selection for a record seventh Olympic Games with other horses in his stable including the 10-year-old Campino.

He says Campino is very good in all phases too and while he is not quite as experienced as Land Vision he can also be a competitive podium prospect.
