Day games all right by Toddy

Updated at 6:44 pm on 4 May 2012

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder is joining the chorus calling for more afternoon games in Super Rugby.

Following last weekend's win over the Waratahs in the sun in Sydney, Blackadder's declared himself a fan of day games, ahead of Sunday's grand final rematch with the Queensland Reds at the new Christchurch stadium.

The Waratahs now want to play all their home games on Sunday afternoons and Blackadder admits he's partial to the idea.

He says there seems to be an appetite out there for Sunday afternoon rugby and hopefully somebody will look at it.

And Blackadder says it's also especially hard to get vital bonus points in late season local derbies when it's slippery and cold.

Blackadder says his All Black flanker Richie McCaw could play the whole 80 minutes on Sunday - but it's better to keep holding him back for a spell off the bench, as McCaw continues his injury comeback.
