The veteran Sydney Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello has ended months of speculation about his National Rugby League future by agreeing to a one-year contract extension.

The former Golden Boot recipient and Premiership winner should now finish his career at the one club.

The Roosters' all-time leading try-scorer, Minichiello will play his 236th premiership game on Sunday against Newcastle, trailing only Luke Ricketson for most games at the club.

Minichiello, 31, joined the Roosters in 1997 and will play his 14th season in first grade with the club next year.
