Blues captain to spend another week on sidelines

The Blues have been dealt more bad luck with captain Keven Mealamu to spend at least another week on the Super Rugby sidelines with a calf injury.

The All Black hooker was a chance to play in Friday night's loss to the Hurricanes but has re-tweaked the injury and is in major doubt for this weekend's bottom of the table clash with the Lions.

The Blues sit dead last in overall standings with just one win from 10 games.

Meanwhile the All Blacks coach Steve Hansen and world cup winner Sir Graham Henry are spending time with the Blues today as they try to snap their run of poor form.

Lam's hoping a fresh perspective from Hansen and Henry will help them find a way to win.
