Cambodia picks slower marathon runner who dresses as a cat

In Cambodia, the national Olympic Committee has sparked controversy by choosing a Japanese-born comedian who often dresses up as a cat.

Hiroshi Neko - or Hiroshi the Cat as he is more commonly known as - has been chosen to run in the men's marathon in London.

However, his selection is controversial as his times are slower than the national champion, who set a new national record in the recent Paris marathon.

The Olympic Committee said it, like other countries, selected promising athletes.
