The Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been named English Premier League player of the season.
The Belgian international has led league leaders City to the brink of their first top-flight crown since 1968.
The award for manager of the season has gone to Newcastle United's Alan Pardew after he turned his unfancied side into contenders for Champions League qualification.
Pardew has won plaudits for rebuilding his side with some astute moves in the transfer market, including the signing of Senegalese strikers Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse.
