Rebels' coach says victory over Crusaders best ever win

The Melbourne Rebels' coach Damien Hill has described last night's super rugby victory over the Crusaders as the best performance his team has ever put together.

His side scored two second half tries in four minutes to stun the Crusaders and secure a rousing 28-19 home victory.

The Crusaders' loss weakened their position in Super Rugby's top six and was compounded by injury to number eight Kieran Read.

Earlier the Hurricanes snatched a 26-20 victory over the Highlanders with a Julian Savea try sealing the outcome in the dying minutes of their clash in Dunedin last night.

The Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph says it's disappointing they lost after dominating much of the game.

The Sharks 53-11 win over the Force in Durban this morning has seen them leapfrog the Highlanders into sixth place on the ladder, while the Hurricanes are one point behind the Highlanders.
