Queens Park Rangers serial offender Joey Barton has been charged with two counts of violent conduct by the Football Association following his red card on the final day of the season against Manchester City.

Barton was sent off on Monday for elbowing Carlos Tevez before kicking Sergio Aguero and attempting to headbutt Vincent Kompany.

Barton was dismissed early in the second half of a match his side was leading 2-1 until Manchester City scored two stoppage time goals to win the match and the Premier League title.
