Australian men's hockey team take 2-0 series victory

Updated at 6:03 am on 18 May 2012

The Australian men's hockey team has ended their European tour on a positive note, securing a 2-0 series win against Germany in Mannheim.

The Kookaburras defeated the world No.2 side 2-1 in testing conditions in the second and final match, backing up a 3-0 win in the first test match on Wednesday.

Jamie Dwyer, Luke Doerner and Matt Gohdes were rested for the second test with Chris Ciriello, Glenn Simpson and Russell Ford returning to the fold.

The Kookaburras are on their way back to Australia and have a well earned rest next week, before preparing for the upcoming series against Korea in June before their London Olympics campaign.
