NZ cricketers may play at Lord's next year

The New Zealand cricketers may get to play a Test at Lord's next year.

At the moment their tour of England doesn't include a test at the London ground, but the new Marylebone Cricket Club chief executive wants the scheduling of matches changed.

Derek Brewer says no ground has a right to stage two Tests per summer, but feels Lord's should do so when there are two touring sides - and it is up to the "Home of Cricket" to put in a strong enough bid to secure two Tests.

Australia have an Ashes tour of England next year.

Glamorgan have revealed they are in discussion with the ECB over swapping New Zealand's test at Cardiff for five ICC Champions Trophy games.

Debate over the redevelopment of Lord's led to fiormer Prime Minister Sir John Major resigning.
