Pat Lam slams 'intrusive media'

The Blues coach Pat Lam has lambasted the media for unacceptable intrusion as the troubled Super Rugby franchise was hit by more negative news.

Lam, whose job was advertised nearly two months out from the end of the season, slammed the appearance of journalists at his home on Wednesday night.

He says a reporter and photographer from the New Zealand Herald who door knocked his home at 8pm had crossed the line.

Lam wouldn't comment on reports that he'd been sent a text with racist overtones from the phone of another high profile rugby figure.

The Blues, who sit second to last in the overall standings, play the fifth-placed Crusaders in Christchurch on Saturday night.
