Chelsea manager appointment won't be rushed

Chelsea Football Club executives say it'll be a few weeks before they appoint a fulltime manager, but after becoming the first London club to win the European Championship, their stand-in manager Roberto di Matteo has to be given serious consideration.

As West London was brought to a standstill this morning on the team's return home from Munich, Chelsea's chief executive Ron Gourlay says owner Roman Abramovich and the board won't be rushed into appointing the next permanent manager - though they know who the fans want.

Roberto Di Matteo's record since taking over in Februrary on an interim basis includes the FA Cup as well as the Champions League trophy.
