Matfield won't be considered by Springboks

The Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer has ruled out a return to the field of retired lock Victor Matfield.

Matfield was rumoured to be being considered ny Meyer to play in the three-test series against England next month. However the coach has told the BBC that Matfield won't be back.

Matfield retired after the World Cup.

Meyer also revealed in the interview that halfback Fourie du Preez is under consideration for selection despite currently playing in Japan.
