The triple world champions Eric Murray and Hamish Bond won the gold medal and the New Zealand rowing team took three silver and one bronze at the World Cup regatta in Lucerne.

Murray and Bond made it four wins in four years in Lucerne, beating in-form Canadians Dave Calder and Scott Frandsen, the silver medallists in Beijing.

Five-time world champion Mahe Drysdale won silver just behind great rival Ondrej Synek in the men's single scull.

The women's lightweight double scullers Louise Ayling and Julia Edward were second to China by just two tenths of a second, while the men's pair of Storm Uru and Peter Taylor took silver in their A final by about half a boat length from the French pair in another nail-biting race.

Double world champions Rebecca Scown and Juliette Haigh ended up third in the women's pair.
