Schwalger re-signs with Chiefs

Updated at 8:04 am on 31 May 2012

The Chiefs' hooker and Samoan Rugby World Cup 2011 Captain Mahonri Schwalger has re-signed with the franchise.

Schwalger is in arguably the best form of his career and has agreed a two-year contract with the Chiefs.

Coach Dave Rennie says Schwalger's wealth of experience, skill and leadership qualities are highly valuable to the team.

32-year-old Schwalger has played in three World Cups and captained Samoa in their historic win against the Wallabies in 2011.
