The World Cup-winning All Blacks assistant coaches Steve Hansen and Wayne Smith have both been honoured in the Queens Birthday Honours list.
Both have been made Companions of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
Hansen, who is now head coach of the All Blacks, says he accepts the honour on behalf of the team and also his family, who without their love and support he couldn't do the job.
He says initially he wasn't sure if he would accept it because it didn't feel right but says after talking to some people he realised it wasn't just about him but his family and all the people who had supported him.
The former All Black John Kirwan has become a ''Sir'', after being knighted for his services to mental health and rugby.
Others to be recognised are netball coach Robyn Broughton, NZRU chairman Mike Eagle, former NZRU chairman Richie Guy, netballer Temepara George, yachting identity Neville Crichton, former New Zealand football chairman Warwick Gendall, basketball identity Nick Mills, former NZRU President John Sturgeon, former League player Dean Lonergan, former tennis player and official Brena Perry, former boxer Trevor Shailer, and former basketball coach Steve McKean.
