The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert is happy his side was able to grind out another victory in the intense heat of the Solomon Islands.
The New Zealanders have qualified for the semi-finals of the Oceania Nations Cup and the next stage of World Cup qualifying after a 2-1 victory over Papua New Guinea.
Herbert says they again started well and got an early goal, but it was difficult to get through the 90 minutes playing in 39 degree temperatures.
He says it's time to rest for all his players but he's sure they'll slowly acclimatise.
New Zealand will be without defender Tony Lochhead for Wednesday's match against the hosts after he picked up a second yellow card.
