Uruguay have overtaken Germany to become the second-highest ranked team behind Spain in the latest FIFA men's world football rankings.

Argentina have improved two places to seventh, just behind Brazil and England.

Portugal were the big losers, down five places to 10th, following a dismal start to the year in which they have failed to win in three matches, scoring just one goal.

New Zealand climbed 30 places to 100th, after the All Whites had a win and a draw against El Salvador and Honduras in Texas, as well as their so-far unbeaten run at the Oceania Nations Cup in Honiara.

Australia dropped three places to 24th.
