The Oklahoma City Thunder are through to basketball's NBA finals for the first time since they were formed, with a series-clinching 107-99 home win over the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs.

The Thunder registered their fourth consecutive win to clinch the best-of-seven Western Conference championship four games to two.

Oklahoma will play the winner of the Eastern Conference final between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

The Thunder swept the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs before beating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games to reach the Conference final against San Antonio.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were formed in 2008 when the franchise formerly known as the Seattle Supersonics was relocated. The Supersonics were founded in 1967 and won one NBA title in 1979.
