Day two of cricket test washed out

12:09 pm on 9 June 2012

The rain has washed out any chance of play on day two of the third and final cricket test between England and the West Indies at Edgbaston.

It's the first time since 1964 that the first two days of a test match in England have been lost to the weather.

England leads the series 2-0.

West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul could play yeet at Edgbaston after scan results showed a side injury was not serious.

The scan showed a strain to his side and no tear, so he could still be involved, a West Indies team spokesman says.

With the first two day's play washed out, the teams are yet to be named.
