The New Zealand single sculler Mahe Drysdale has beaten his rival Ondrej Synek of the Czech Republic at a regatta in the Netherlands.

Drysdale, who lost to Synek at last month's Lucerne World Cup regatta, beat him by 5 seconds at the Holland Beker Cup.

The men's pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond also won.

The next major event for New Zealand rowers is the Munich World Cup regatta this weekend.
