The former All Black loose forward Scott Robertson has been appointed the new assistant coach of the Canterbury provincial rugby team for the 2012 ITM Cup campaign.

Robertson spent the last four years as the assistant forwards coach. His appointment follows the recent promotion of fellow former All Black Tabai Matson from assistant coach to head coach for Canterbury, after Rob Penney went to Irish club Munster.

Nicknamed Razor, Robertson played 69 times for Canterbury from 1996 and 86 Super Rugby games for the Crusaders, as well as 23 tests.
