The Ireland rugby squad has toured Christchurch's red zone after arriving in the city on Wednesday for Saturday's second test.

Coach Declan Kidney says it's hard to put his feelings into words on surveying the earthquake-ravaged zone but his team's happy to be able to help get international rugby back in Christchurch.

Kidney says they're absolutely delighted to be there and the people of Christchurch seem to have rolled up their sleeves and got down to work.

The test is now sold out with a capacity crowd of 21,000 at the new AMI Stadium.
