Australia will boast a record number of starters in cycling's greatest race, the Tour de France.
New team Orica-GreenEDGE swells the numbers, boasting nine of the 12 Australians on the start list in the Belgian city of Liege on Saturday, beating the 2010 mark of 11.
Defending champion Cadel Evans, the first rider from this country to win the race, is the highest-profile Australian in the Tour while Evans' main opposition is expected to come from Briton Brad Wiggins, who will have two Australians, Richie Porte and Michael Rogers, among his lieutenants on the Sky team.
