Cronulla has posted a first victory over Brisbane at their Suncorp Stadium fortress in eight years, the Sharks winning 26-12 to leapfrog the Broncos into third on the National Rugby League ladder.
Despite missing key players Paul Gallen and Todd Carney to State of Origin, the visitors impressed in the five tries to two victory, while to rubbing salt into the Broncos' wounds, centre Jack Reed and Kiwis fullback Josh Hoffman finished with injury worries after failing to play any part in the second half.
Sharks captain Jeremy Smith was also placed on report for striking Brendan Gibb.
