The Warriors started and finished well against the Cowboys who were without their four State of Origin stars, but they were well in the match until the Warriors sealed the match with two late tries.
The result keeps the Warriors in ninth place, two points or one win outside the top eight.
Elsewhere the South Sydney Rabbitohs disposed of the Penrith Panthers 38-12 to edge closer to the NRL top four.
