No rest for Camper crew as final Volvo Ocean leg gets underway

11:40 am on 2 July 2012

After 39,000 miles of sailing, nine months, and six continents, Team New Zealand's boat Camper has set off on the final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race from Lorient, France to Galway, Ireland.

The 550-nautical mile sprint should take less than 48 hours to complete and although Groupama looks comfortable in first place overall, everything is left to play for in the remaining podium places with only four points between second placed Puma and third placed Camper.

With 30 points on offer for a leg win a top three result should ensure an overall podium position for Camper.

Camper's skipper Chris Nicholson doesn't expect the crew will get any sleep before the finish line as the intensity goes up another notch.
