More injury woe has been heaped on the Black Caps after Wellington fast bowler Mark Gillespie was ruled out of the West Indies test series after failing to recover from an ankle injury.
Mark Gillespie had a strong return to test cricket earlier this year taking two five wicket bags in a test series against South Africa.
The Black Caps play the West Indies in a 2-test series at the end of July.
Mark Gillespie joins a long list of Black Caps casualties which includes captain Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram and Roneel Hira.
A decision on who will replace Gillespie in the test squad is yet to be made.
