Camper wins final leg of Round the World Ocean race

Updated at 12:10 pm on 4 July 2012

Team New Zealand's Round the World Ocean race entry Camper has won the ninth and final leg of the race, to all but guarantee second place overall.

The French team Groupama arrived in Galway seven minutes after Camper in second place, to win the race overall.

The race covered 73,000 kilometres and took eight months to complete.

It's Camper first leg win of the race and they'll finish second overall unless they fail to complete this weekend's in-port race and third-placed Puma win it.
