Football legend Pele believes his Brazilian side that won the 1970 World Cup was better than the Spanish squad that won this week's Euro 2012 final.
Pele says each generation has its preferences but without doubt, the 1970 generation was better as it had many more great individual players than Spain, which has two or three excellent players.
Pele was part of the squad that trounced Italy 4-1 in the 1970 World Cup final and is widely considered the greatest football player of all time - though Argentina fans always quibble with that call, hailing Diego Maradona as the best.
Pele however has high praise for the free-flowing, attacking football style that enabled Spain to trounce Italy 4-0 in Kiev and to be rated currently as the best team in the world.
Pele also says it's unfair to compare his young countryman Neymar with Argentina's superstar Lionel Messi.
In April Pele suggested that the Brazilian star was better than the Barcelona wonder, but Pele says the 20-year-old Santos playmaker has only had an international career of 18 months, while the best player in the world is Messi.
But Neymar has everything to be the new Messi, the new Maradona, Pele says, pointing out that Messi has 15 years of international experience.
