Roger Federer beats defending champion Novak Djokovic

The Swiss tennis player Roger Federer has beaten Novak Djokovic to reach an unprecedented eighth Wimbeldon final.

Federer dazzled the defending champion and world number one Djokovic 6-3 3-6 6-4 6-3 under a closed roof at the All England Club.

Federer will go into the final with the chance to equal Pete Sampras's seven Wimbeldon titles as well as go back to being world number one.

It will also be Federer's record-extending 24th grand slam final appearance as he strives to land his first major title since the 2010 Australian Open.
