The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic has been knocked out of the singles in the second round of the Stanford Classic WTA event in California.

Poland's Urszula Radwanska beat Erakovic, the tournament's eighth seed, 6-3 3-6 6-4, in a reversal of their first round meeting two weeks ago at Wimbledon.

Erakovic is still alive in the doubles with partner Heather Watson of Britain and could face Radwanska again in the semi-finals - the Pole plays her quarter-final with Eleni Danilidou of Greece today against South African Natalie Grandin and Vladimira Uhlirova of the Czech Republic.
