The South African side the Sharks have suffered a setback ahead of Saturday's Super Rugby qualifying final against the Queensland Reds, with Springboks fullback Pat Lambie ruled out with an ankle injury.
Lambie, who has played at both first five-eighth and fullback for the Sharks, is one of three key players left at home.
The Sharks failed in their bid to have Test inside centre Frans Steyn, a late-season recruit, made eligible for the finals while lock Piet-Steph du Toit is also out with an ankle injury.
