Injuries make Warriors task even tougher

With the heat turned up in the chase for top eight spots, the absence of injured players will again have a profound influence on the Warriors NRL clash with Cronulla at Mount Smart Stadium.

The Auckland club, 12th on the table but only two points outside the top eight, take on the seventh-placed Sharks with both teams struggling to find winning form.

The Warriors still have two of their most experienced players - Jerome Ropati and Sam Rapira - doing long-term service on the injured list, while regular captain Simon Mannering is also unavailable Sunday's match.

Fullback Glen Fisiiahi, hooker Alehana Mara and impressive rookie centre Konrad Hurrell are also out with injury.

Veteran back rower Micheal Luck is out of the casualty ward this weekend but will make his comeback for the Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup on Saturday.

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has named a side excluding a handful of regulars still listed as injured although tipped to return soon.
