The New Zealand cricketers overcame a disastrous start to the second test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica with a century partnership for the third wicket between skipper Ross Taylor and Martin Guptil.

BJ Watling and Brendon McCullum were back in the pavilion with only 11 runs on the board, but Guptil and Taylor knuckled down in difficult batting conditions to take the total to 114 before Taylor's dismissal for 60.

Midway through the second session New Zealand are 119 for 3 with Guptil on 46.

And approaching stumps on the first day of the second England-South Africa test in Leeds, South Africa are 262 for 5.
