Manchester United's bid to sign Arsenal's Dutch striker Robin van Persie from have stalled says United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Van Persie has 11 months left on his Arsenal contract and has declined an offer to extend his deal with the London based club.
Ferguson says United first made a bid for van Persie last month but Arsenal are trying to negotiate with other clubs.
It's believed Arsenal are reluctant to enter formal negotiations until a bid exceeds $40 million.
