The Wallabies captain David Pocock is to consult with a surgeon this morning following a knee injury suffered in tje opening Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks in Sydney on Saturday night.

Pocock suffered damage to the articular cartilage of his knee in the first half of the match.

This morning's consultation will determine the course of action in order to rehabilitate the injury.

Meanwhile the Western Force number eight Ben McCalman, who had been part of the wider Wallabies training group, underwent surgery after fracturing the radius in his forearm.

McCalman, who was returning from a nerve injury in his shoulder which had sidelined him for much of the year, is expected to be out of action for a minimum of three months.
