Pocock to undergo surgery

3:48 pm on 20 August 2012

Halfback Will Genia will captain the Wallabies against the All Blacks in Auckland on Saturday night, with confirmation skipper David Pocock requires surgery on his knee.

Pocock suffered cartilage damage to his right knee in Saturday's opening Bledisloe Cup test in Sydney, won 27-19 by the All Blacks.

Pocock says he's unsure how long he'll be out as the surgeon won't put a time frame on his recovery until he's had the surgery.

Coach Robbie Deans says it's likely he'll name both other openside flankers, Michael Hooper and Liam Gill, in the squad.
