New Zealand has added two more silver medals to its collection on the second night of finals at the UCI Junior World Track Cycling Championships in Invercargill.

Dylan Kennett of Waimate broke the New Zealand junior record in the Kilo time trial and became just the fifth New Zealander to go under the 1:03 mark over the 1000m distance as he finished second.

Alexandra's Sophie Williamson finished behind four-time world champion Taylah Jennings of Australia in the 80-lap women's points race.

Auckland's Paige Paterson has advanced through to the semi-finals of the women's sprint.

After three events of the six-leg men's omnium, Canterbury's Tayla Harrison is sitting in eighth place.
