Jamaica's Yohan Blake has become the second fastest man over 100 metres, clocking 9.69 seconds at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting.
World champion Blake, who was the silver medallist behind Usain Bolt at the London Olympics, finished ahead of America's Tyson Gay with Nesta Carter of Jamaica third.
The 22-year-old improved his previous personal best of 9.75 seconds to move into second place on the all-time list which Blake now shares with Gay, who has also run 9.69 seconds.
Only Bolt - with the current world record of 9.58 seconds as well as his Olympic winning time of 9.63 seconds in London - has run faster.
Bolt ran 19.58 seconds for victory in the 200 metres, comfortably winning ahead of Dutchman Churandy Martina and fellow Jamaican Nickel Ashmeade as the top three all finished in under 20 seconds.
America's Carmelita Jeter edged the women's 100, turning the tables on Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica.
Valerie Adams won the shot put with a distance of 20.95 metres - a Lausanne record - while Nick Willis finished a disappointing 11th in the 1500 metres.
