12:48 pm on 1 September 2012

Bike New Zealand says most of the country's European-based cycling professionals are available for selection in next month's Road World Championships in the Netherlands.

Linda Villumsen will be trying to add gold to the bronze and silver medals she won in the time trial at the past two championships.

She'll also contest the road race with a trio of young Auckland riders, Emily Collins, Emma Crum and Kate Chilcott.

The Olympic bronze medalists Jesse Sergent and Sam Bewley will contest the team time trial in the Netherlands.

And Sergent, Jack Bauer, Julian Dean, Hayden Roulston and George Bennett will all be considered for the three spots New Zealand has qualified for in the road race.

The Olympian Greg Henderson has withdrawn from the event with injury.
