Carroll off to West ham

The Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has joined fellow English Premier League football side West Ham on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old England international had wanted to stay at Anfield but the realisation that he was out of manager Brendan Rodgers's plans persuaded him to take a move.

The move reunites Carroll with his former Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce and captain Kevin Nolan.

The deal could allow Liverpool to free up funds to move for Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.
