The Christchurch swimmer Sophie Pascoe has won her second medal at the Paralympic Games in London, a silver in the S10 50 metres freestyle.
Pascoe set a new Paralympic record in the heats with a time of 28.41 seconds before her arch rival from Canada, Summer Ashley Mortimer, bettered the time by two hundredths of a second.
In the final, Mortimer won the gold medal and set a new world record of 28.10 seconds in the process.
Pascoe claimed silver just 14 hundredths of a second behind the Canadian.
The 19-year-old Cantabrian won New Zealand's first gold medal at the games in the individual medley on Friday.
