Nicholson second after Burghley cross country

New Zealanders fill four of the top nine spots at the Burghley International Horse Trials after the cross country phase, with Andrew Nicholson second.

Nicholson's sitting in second on Avebury, just 6.5 penalty points behind the leader Sinead Halpin from the USA. He's also poised to take the HSBC FEI Classics Series which is worth a massive $US150,000 to the winner.

Nicholson is also in eighth spot on Calico Joe who, with Mark Todd on Major Milestone, were two of just four combinations to go clear inside time.

Jonathan Paget and Clifton Lush are sitting in sixth with Caroline Powell and Boston Two Tip in ninth, while Todd is 15th.
