British teen slays another giant at US Open

The British teenager Laura Robson has caused another major upset at the United States Tennis Open by knocking the ninth seed Li Na out of the tournament.

The 18-year-old, who dispatched the three times US Open champion Kim Clijsters in the second round, will meet the defending champion, Australia's Samantha Stosur, in the round of 16.

Stosur says Robson is starting to live up to the potential she displayed in winning the Wimbledon junior title at age 14.

The Australian says she's never played Robson and will have to do her homework.

Earlier, the two-time US Open champion Venus Williams was knocked out of the tournament by Germany's Angelique Kerber.

The defending champion Novak Djokovic has booked his place in the third round by beating the Brazilian Rogerio Dutra Silva in straight sets.

Australian Open champion and top women's seed Victoria Azarenka swept past China's Zheng Jie 6-1 6-0 in less than an hour to advance to the fourth round, taking just 59 minutes to set up a contest against Georgia's Anna Tatishvili for a place in the quarter-finals.

Also through are John Isner, Lleyton Hewitt, Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer, Maria Sharapova, Petra Kvitova and Marion Bartoli.
