The brother and agent of former Juventus footballer Alessandro Del Piero says the Italian great has not yet committed to Sydney FC.
Sydney FC, Scottish champions Celtic, Southampton, Sporting Braga of Portugal and Swiss side FC Sion are among the clubs chasing Del Piero's signature.
Although Sydney FC announced the Del Piero signing on their website, Stefano Del Piero said that was premature.
If Del Piero were to sign for Sydney FC, his first A-League game would be against the Wellington Phoenix, in Wellington.
