The New Zealand equestrian Andrew Nicholson has won his third Burghley horse trial in England.
Second after the cross country phase, Nicholson and his horse Avebury dropped just one rail in the showjumping to win by 2.5 penalty points ahead of overnight leader Sinead Halpin of the United States who dropped three rails.
Of the other New Zealanders Jonathan Paget was 5th, Mark Todd 12th, and Nicholson on his second horse 13th.
